9. DATA SECURITY
We implement SSL/TLS encryption, secure password storage and constant security monitoring.
10. EXTENDED COOKIE POLICY AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES
At Honestia Connect Education we use cookies, web beacons, tracking pixels (including Meta Pixel) and other similar technologies (collectively, "Cookies") to collect and store information about your interactions with our web platform. This section details extensively how, why and under what circumstances we deploy these technologies on your devices, ensuring maximum transparency about the processing of your cross-border browsing data and your digital footprint.
10.1. Definition and Technical Nature of Cookies
A "cookie" is a tiny text file, often encrypted, that a web server sends and stores persistently or temporarily on your browser's hard drive or memory (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, etc.) on your personal computer, mobile device or tablet. These files act as a "memory" for the website, allowing it to recognize your device on subsequent visits, remembering your preferences, your session authentication status, the products or courses you have shown interest in, and facilitating fundamental underlying technical processes for the operability of the service (such as DNS resolution, Cloudflare routing and DDoS attack prevention).
10.2. Typology and Specific Purpose of Deployed Cookies
Our platform operates with a data architecture that strictly segments cookies into the following categories, depending on their impact on user privacy and operational criticality:
- Strictly Necessary (Essential) Cookies: These cookies are the technical core of the platform. Without them, the Honestia Connect Education environment would collapse or present critical security failures. They include session identifiers (auth_tokens), network routing cookies (Cloudflare _cfduid), and cross-site request forgery prevention tokens (CSRF). Given their indispensable nature for the provision of the service you expressly request, these cookies cannot be disabled and do not require your prior consent under international legislation.
- Performance and Advanced Analytics Cookies: We deploy state-of-the-art telemetry tools, such as Google Analytics 4 (GA4), to quantify web traffic volumetrically. These cookies collect pseudonymized information about page load times, bounce rates, scroll depth and navigation patterns (funnel drop-offs). This allows us to identify bottlenecks in the user experience and algorithmically optimize server infrastructure.
- Marketing, Advertising and Behavioral Tracking Cookies (Meta Pixel): To keep our courses accessible and promote relevant educational opportunities, we employ the Meta Pixel (formerly Facebook Pixel) and associated retargeting technologies. These tools record your interactions with specific courses and allow us to show you hyper-personalized ads on social media and third-party display networks. These cookies may identify your browser or device over time and across multiple independent websites, creating a Consumer Interest Profile.
- Preference and Interface Personalization Cookies: They remember user interface decisions, such as language selection, high-contrast accessibility settings, or whether you have already viewed and closed promotional modals.
10.3. Authorized Third Parties and Cross-Border Data Flow
By granting your consent to non-essential cookies, you authorize the cross-border transfer of captured data (such as your obfuscated IP address, advertising identifiers and User-Agents) to the servers of our corporate partners located predominantly in the United States and the European Union. Entities with access to this telemetry include, but are not limited to:
- Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC: For analytical metrics.
- Meta Platforms, Inc. / Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.: For high-precision advertising profiling and campaign conversion measurement.
- Cloudflare, Inc.: For perimeter security risk mitigation (operating at the network level, independent of marketing cookie consent).
10.4. Control Mechanisms, Consent and Complex Revocation
You retain the right to modify your tracking preferences. On your first visit, you will be presented with a "Consent Banner" that allows you to accept all technologies through a clear affirmative action. If you wish to reject or granularize your consent (excluding strictly essential cookies), you may access the "Advanced Settings Panel" from the banner itself. Please note that disabling marketing cookies will not reduce the amount of advertising you see on the internet, but this advertising will no longer be contextualized based on your educational interests. Additionally, you may exercise browser-level controls to block local storage, although we emphatically warn that this may result in substantial degradation of the interactive experience within our virtual academy.
11. MINORS
For users under 18 years of age, express authorization from the parent or legal guardian is required for registration and data processing.
